Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

Your Lasting Voice interview – including recording, editing, and preservation – is a service performed for you and your family at no cost. Now and forever. Donations to support our effort are greatly appreciated, but by no means expected.

Who can listen to my Lasting Voice interview?

Within a few weeks of your interview, our team will produce a shorter, edited version of your session (of about 5 to 10 minutes) which anyone in the community will be able to listen to on the Lasting Voice website . The complete un-edited interview will be made available to direct family members, and to others with whom they choose to share your Voice with, upon your death.

Where is my Lasting Voice kept?

All Voices are safely and securely stored ‘in the cloud’, and can be streamed for listening at any time, for an unlimited number times, at no cost. Find any completed Lasting Voice by visiting the Voices page of our website using a computer, tablet, phone or other device connected to the Internet. A good pair of speakers, headphones or ‘earbuds’ makes the experience sound even more personal.

Who will interview me?

Your interviewer will be a volunteer from your Temple community who naturally loves to engage with people and create a safe and trusting environment for listening to their stories. Many of our interviewers are now retired but during their careers were professional ‘people persons’, like social workers, therapists, etc.
